A NAUI historical event
At the end of November 2007 the first NAUI Rep seminar was held at the European office of NAUI in the Netherlands. NAUI HQ (USA) and NAUI Europe prepared for the NAUI Reps an intensive three day NAUI REP seminar. The purpose was updating, training , marketing, learning, sharing and this all on top level. Exchange of ideas regarding branding the NAUI name was also an exiting part of the program.
For this NAUI seminar there were REPs from all over Europe, a total of
19 (incl. 3 NAUI REP business partners) attended the program. The NAUI
Europe team was assisted by NAUI HQ (USA), through Jim Bram, Jed
Livingstone and Chad Barbey.

NAUI Europe visited together with Alain Sassine (NAUI REP in Lebanon)
the Dubai Boat and Dive show. The second time diving was on this show
and a good reason for NAUI to do meet and greets with NAUI members and
ofcourse potential new NAUI members.
Dubai shows the world what is technical possible on all levels, so we can imagine an indoor-ocean being
a fact in Dubai in nearby future.
The dive industry in the UAE is still very young and the divesites are at this moment especially in the north of the emirates.

Miklos Tamas, NAUI REP in Hungary, organized a big staff on the
Budapest Sport Show. His goal was to get attention for scuba diving and

The general public was informed about the possibilities and beautiness
of scuba diving. Especially for this event Dick Lucas flew over from
the NAUI Europe office. Dick was impressed about the performance the
NAUI REP in Hungary and his team did. Miklos Tamas beated his numbers
and records with NAUI last year and now I know how he attracks the new
clients. Miklos was happy that NAUI Europe showed up for the second

On the dive show in Holland NAUI created a NAUI street. This was a long
street with NAUI members on both sides promoting the teaching system
and their business. The NAUI street was the most bussy street on the
show and some instructors crossed the street and used it as a cross
over street. The pictures shows that it was really more people in the
NAUI street then any other street on the show. There was a lot to see
and a lot to do and even a lot to win. Lucas Diving gave away a real
dive computer in a price winning contest. There were dive
demonstrations and there were dive schools/centres from Red Sea, Spain,
Egypt, Holland, Curaçao and many more.

Tim Allossery, our man on the European shows was injured at the time of
the Dutch diving show. That injury (not a dive injury or dive related
injury) did not keep him away of promoting NAUI in Holland. "With a
little pain in my hand I could do what I like to do most and that is
explaining the general public diving and NAUI diving in general", Tim
sais.
NAUI Europe is proud on the dedication of all the assiting members and
on Tim in special. This is what the NAUI family is. All members do what
he or she can to promote NAUI and to teach NAUI. On this way we make
NAUI stronger every day.

NAUI Europe ceo Dick Lucas mentioned that the interest for the NAUI
teaching system was very high. That high was real high is what you can
see on the picture. The highest visitor of the show took time to visit
the NAUI booth and shake hands with Dick Lucas. As a friend of Dick
Lucas he sees NAUI growing every day and he knows about growing as you
can see.
